Ebner can play Saturday; Prince likely out

Coach Gary Pinkel announced Monday at his press conference that linebacker Will Ebner is 100% recovered from the knee injury he suffered earlier this season.

Ebner has made a name for himself with jarring hits on defense and on special teams.

The news is not as good on defensive back Munir Prince. Prince, a transfer from Notre Dame, is dealing with a hamstring injury and will likely be unavailable against Texas.

Pinkel was asked whether backup Jimmy Costello might replace sophomore starting Blaine Gabbert at quarterback. Gabbert has played through a minor ankle injury against Nebraska and Oklahoma State, and has struggled in the second half of each game.

Pinkel did not specifically address the issue, saying Gabbert will play as long as the trainers approve. He said letting Gabbert play will not make the injury worse.
