MORE: Mizzou v. Iowa State

November 21, 2009

The Mizzou fans are booing the decision to take a knee at the end of the half. Iowa State stormed back to take a 17-10 lead at the half. A Tiger fumble with a minute left allowed for the last-minute TD drive.

IOWA STATE 17, MISSOURI 10: Austen Arnaud throws a prayer of a pass and it’s caught by Iowa State. Obviously, MU’s pass interference is irrelevant. The 39-yarder gives Iowa State its first lead of the game, and the Jackson fumble was indeed VERY costly.

Jerrell Jackson makes a first-down catch but then fumbles it. Iowa State will have it at its own 34 with just a minute left.

3:22 is left in the first half. Iowa State put together a good drive but Missouri got stops when the Tigers needed them in particular.

MISSOURI 10, IOWA STATE 10: Iowa State just short facing fourth down, and they took the safe route.

And the defense gets that stop on third and short. Check that, Iowa State awarded a first down. The spot looked bad from here, and the fans are booing.

Big screen pass takes Iowa State to the Missouri 35. Tigers defense scrambling to make a stop.

Second turnover on downs in this game – one for each team.

Gabbert’s third-down pass is batted away by a Cyclone defender. With fourth down and four to go, Missouri offense stays on the field. The pass is incomplete, and the plan backfires.

On a following run, DWash lowers his shoulders and knocks a man’s helmet off. Unfortunately, the Iowa State player hit, safety James Smith, had to come out of the game.

Another good second-effort run by Washington gives MU a first down and takes the offense across the 50 yard line.

So far, Missouri has done a good job keeping Iowa State’s rushing totals low. The Tigers will field a punt after a quick defensive possession with 11:34 on the clock. Cyclones had the ball for about a full game minute.
